178 Ludlow St.

Located off of Houston on the Lower East Side, this chicken and waffles joint is too perfect to pass up. With the line out the door, my fellow chicken enthusiast and I opted for take out instead (and that way we could stuff our faces from the comfort of home). For the first time ever, I tried chicken and waffles, and absolutely loved it. While on the pricier side, around $20 for two pieces of chicken and a waffle, I would definitely pay for it again.

I ordered the Buffalo Fried Chicken and waffles and had never before had my tastebuds been so pleased by chicken. While the idea of celery in my waffles was a bit foreign and tasted a little strange, dipping the drumstick smothered in buffalo sauce in syrup was unexpectedly delicious.

The southern industrial vibe of the place is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy this upscale version of chicken and waffles and maybe hang around for a drink or two, unless you want a second round of the chicken, then get the chicken, we won’t judge.
