Found on the North End of Boston, otherwise known as the Italian end, this humble hole in the wall pizzeria is not to be missed when you visit Boston. On one my first trips to Paul Revere’s old stomping ground, I had read about Galeria Umberto in a travel guide and decided to try it out; I did not regret it. This cash-only spot literally looks like it is in a garage, and is only open during lunch hours (11 am - 3 pm), and is closed on Sundays. They offer a very limited menu and once they run out of pizza you are out of luck, but plain is the way to go, in my opinion.
Their sicilian style pizza keep customers coming back for more, waiting in long lines with the hope of a slice. The restaurant itself is small and is not a place you will sit for a long time, especially since it is so busy. This is a pay at the counter and get out kind of place, but you won’t mind the indecency once you take that first bite. Definitely worth the wait.
