If you’re looking for a cozy, laid back and relaxed atmosphere to meet with friends or get some work done (as well as snap some pics of impeccable latte art) head on over to Ridgewood, NJ.

Growing up in Northern New Jersey is a pleasure when you have a great place to head back to like this charming cafe across from the train station. If you’re a twenty-something who is back at home ever now and then, there are a few things you might be in need of; good friends, good coffee and some peace and quiet. American Bulldog Coffee Roasters is a place I have gone for many years for exactly these three things. When you walk into the aesthetically pleasing environment of the coffee shop, you automatically want to plant yourself in one of their many seats. I, personally, have never gotten a cuppa’ joe to-go from this place, it really traps you in.

The walls are painted white, and brown-coffee colored chairs and tabletops dress the place. There are benches lining the walls in certain areas as well. Little knickknacks appear on the wall and chalkboards surround the order counter to inform you of all the drinks and small bites the café offers.

My usual go-to at the café is a flat-white, and let me just say never have I ever gotten a bad flat-white (or any drink for that matter) from this American Bulldog. The perfect balance of everything combined into a signature brown mug is presented to customers with unflawed latte art, as per usual.

I usually go into the cafe and meet up with friends, it’s a great place to have a nice conversation; I’m sure this goes for meetings and interviews as well. If I’m not chatting up an old pal, I’m usually sitting writing one of these blog posts for you lovely people! There is a separate room to the right when you walk into the cafe, this is where most tend to get their work and writing done.

Whenever I visit the downtown area of Ridgewood, there is never I time that I don’t stop in (even if it is just for a quick drink).

If you happen to be in the Northern New Jersey, I would highly recommend coming to Ridgewood in general for a quick bite to eat at one of the towns many restaurants. Overall, this cafe is charmed with its own lovely personality, any coffee lover would have a delightful time. Only open from 7am to 5pm, be sure to pick up your caffeine fix.
